"How comes it only two are baptized? Proctor starts to speak, then stops, then, as though unable to restrain this: I like not that Mr. Parris should lay his hand upon my baby." (Miller 62)
"You have said that twice, sir. Lost: Aye. He is flailing for it. Delicately: Adultery, John... You see, sir, between the two of us we do know them all. Hale only looks at Proctor, deep in his attempt to define this man." (Miller 64)
"Since we built the church there were pewter candle sticks upon the alter; Francis Nurse made them... Parris came, and for twenty week he preach nothin' but golden candle sticks until he had them." (Miller 62)
For the picture I chose the scene when Hale came to the Proctor's to question them. This part of the story is important because this is when Hale realizes how much the Proctors have done that is against what the Putrains believe. For example one out of the Proctor's three kids isn't baptized. Another example is that John hasn't been going to church regularly. Their excuse for both of these is that they don't like Reverend Parris. Another big problem with the Proctors is that John didn't know all of his 10 commandments. Which funny enough the commandment he forgot was adultery, which he committed. All of this shows how the Proctors are not in a good situation at the moment. Which will not end well for them.
