By the 1830s many Maori started to become followers of Christ and many started to live their lives as Christians. Bishop Pompallier helped with spreading the catholic faith in NZ. In the parable of the sower there is a farmer who plants seeds, he planted some of the seeds on a path, some on a pile of rocks and some in some fresh soil. Only the seeds that grew on the soil grew to their full potential. The farmer in this case is Bishop Pompallier because he planted the seeds of Catholic faith around NZ and the seeds is the faith Maori had in Christ. The Maori who chose to let the seed grow that had been planted became followers of Christ and those who didn't did not become followers and their faith didn't grow.

Bishop Pompallier was a very important part of spreading the catholic faith in New Zealand and he helped to establish many missions. As a quick learner of Te Reo Bishop Pompallier helped to break down the language barrier the Europeans and Maori had between each other. Bishop Pompallier was a very hard working person and he had a very positive impact on establishing Christianity in NZ. When Bishop Pompallier was younger he was in the Lyons seminary but eventually became the leader of his own missions.
