She knew that Gina was capable of interacting with peers because she did it outside of school and at home with her family. Her mother was always advocating for her goals in school to be as close as those in general education classrooms.
Although Gina's life after 18 what’s full of what ifs this does not stop her or her family from including Gina in everything she could be included. She was a member of her class while she attended public school in New York, she was also part of the choir, Girl Scouts, the GEM club and the anti-bullying peer buddy program. Gina has proven that despite her needs for extra assistance she is able to have a fulfilling life.
