  • the water cycle starts in a big body of water, like this pool for example. the sun heats up the water and it starts to evaporate. evaporation is when water partiles get too hot and they start to rise into the apmosphere.
  • there are other ways water particles can get into the apmosphere, like transpiration, which comes from plants such as theese trees, and respiration, which comes from animals, such as me or my dog. there is another way, too. Sublimation is when water skips the liquid stage and just evaporats as a solid.
  • when the water particles start to cool, they become clouds and condensate. the sky also becomes more gray.
  • as you can see, it has started to rain. this is a form of percipitation. the other forms are snow, sleet and hail. when it rains, the rain can enter soil which would be infiltration. it could also find itself in a runoff which could lead to a river or lake.
  • if it enters the soil, it could enter an aquifer, which is a collection of growndwater all in one place underground. then a plant could collect it in its roots.
  • and that is pretty much the water cycle. now if you will excuse me, i need to change out of these soking wet clothes. I WAS in a rainstorm!
