- Since the Egyptians had so much sand and grit in their bread, they had many problems with their teeth. When they invented toothpaste, they used different ingredients such as eggshells, ashes, and even grounded ox hooves.
- The Egyptians originally made boats out of papyrus reed, however, they started to make their boats ot of cedar wood which came from Lebanon.
- Both men and women wore makeup as a fashion statement. The Egyptians made dark makeup called Khol out of soot and other minerals. A benefit of using this makeup helped protect their skin from the sun.
- Egyptians used weird ingredients to create their medicine. They used honey and brains to create a cure for an eye infection and cooked mice to cure coughs
- Writing was a very important invention in Ancient Egypt. The Egyptians wrote hieroglyphs on papyrus scrolls to keep records and to also maintain the empire
- Egyptians were able to make durable parchment out of a plant called papyrus. They used these parchments as a way to keep important documents and religious information. The Egyptians wanted to keep the process of making the parchment a secret so they could sell them to other nations
