- Evaporation
- The sun warms up water from the oceans and other bodies of water. Theincrease in temperature causes water to change into water vapor and into the atmosphere.
- Off to the shore...
- Condensation
- Lower pressure at higher altitudes causes the temperature to be colder. The cooling of the watervapor causes water condensation.
- Uh oh, the storm is coming...
- Precipitation
- I'm gonna leave and find a nice place...
- The clouds then pour down as precipitation. Depending on thetemperature, it could be rain, snow, hail and more
- Transpiration
- The soil takes in water after precipitation. plants take up the water and extrawater is released in the form of water vapor through small holes in the leaves.
- Meanwhile, in a place far away...
- Water Runoff
- Run off is when water runs over the Earth’s surface. Run off can end up inlakes, rivers, or bodies of water which lead to oceans.
- Infiltration
- This is where water is not absorbed by the soil as well but over time, it drops into the ground and collects down there. This can be what causes floods.
