- The amount of tea that was dumped into the water was at an extreme level. 340 chests of tea is equivalent to more than 92,000 pounds. or approximately 46 tons. They were angry at the British for imposing the phrase, " no taxation without representation." This signifies the American colonists opposing the British tax policies in the 1760s and 1770s.
- This scene is from the Boston Tea Party that took place on December 13, 1773. The demonstrators boarded the ships, smashed, and dumped 340 chests of tea from the British East India Company.
