Wait, dad I want to ask you about the job you got in high school!
Why do you ask?
Well, I wanted to see what I can do to get a job like yours!
The apprenticeship program allowed us as high schoolers to learn and get paid on the job!
Well I got into an apprenticeship program and used to work as a Floor Covering Installer.
What's that?
As for what my job does, we prepare floors by removing existing trims, flooring and underlayments. We also install and repair resilient tiles, glued carpets, tiles , cushion, wood flooring, and laminate floors.
In the apprenticeship program, we had on-the-job training and in-school training!
We had a skilled trade teacher teach us on the job with our hands, and from in school training, we had to learn about resilient tiles, sheet goods, carpets and pads, and lastly hardwood floors
It is 6000 hours of training, but it's fun when you use your hands to accomplish something you can be proud of while being paid
I got my training at Capital Floor Supply Inc. if you were wondering.Anything else you need?
No problem!I'll be going now.
That's all, thanks so much, dad!I'll try it out someday!Have a safe trip!
