Chapter 9: In chapter nine, Yanek gets snatched up while working his job. When he got to the camp, he saw that Uncle Moshe was there and called out to him. This lead to another man getting beat by the kapo. Uncle Moshe told Yanek the most important advice. Yanek is no one.
Chapter 14: In Trzebinia concentration camp, Yanek's job was to move piles of rocks from one place to another and then back again. He also dug holes six feet deep and then filled them back in again. Yanek says torturing them is a game to the Nazis, but he's not going to break.
