- THE NUN'S PRIEST'S TALE
- Hi, I'm Chanticleer, i'm a cockerel. I'm handsome, i've a red comb, a shining golden beak, magnificent black legs, feathers of many colours
- Oh no, what a frightening nightmare I've just had! I'm very scared now!
- It loocked a bit like a dog ... but more frightening than a dog. It was like brown .. but more red than brown. It had black tips on its ears and thick tail!!
- There was once a widow who owned a handsome cockerel called Chanticleer, no other cockerel could crow as well as Chanticleer could. The widow also had seven hens that were Chanticleer's sister had wives
- my name is Reynard, i'm your great admirer, ...and friend. I'm here because i want to hear you sing, you've the voice of an angel!
- Could you please sing for me like your father has done for me once? I will make me very happy
- A night Chanticleer has had a nightmare about being caught by a horrible animal there in the frmyard and then being killed
- HELP! HELP! STOP, THEIF! A FOX!
- The following morning he he was afraid because he belived that the deam were warnings about events in the future, so he told that to his favoutite wife Lady Pertelot.
- I won't be a fool twice. I won't be flattered again, and I'll never close my eyes and sing whwn there's a fox in the farmyard
- Chanticleer forgot about his dream while he was looking for worms in the farmyard. Suddently Chanticleer noticed a fox, who introduced himself and said very nice things about his crowing
- Of course I can,COCK-A-DOODLE-DO!!
- When Chanticleer started singing, the fox jumped and grabbed Chanticleer in his jaws, threw him over his back and ran off, out of the garden towards the wood while the widow and her daughters were screaming
- Even though Chanticleer was terrified suggest that Reynard would shout at the widow how clever he was, but when the fox opened his mouth, Chanticleer flew up high into the trees. Then the fox went away and Chanticleer went back to the farm
