Storyboard Text
- Odysseus and his men set off back to Ithaca. He tells his men they will first pass by Sirens. Odysseus tells them to use wax to plug their ears so they don't hear their song. He tells them to tie him up and if he asks to be released to tie the rope tighter.
- Odysseus must then choose between going through two paths. Circe told him the first path is impossible to pass through. And the second path is difficult to pass through because it's filled with black clouds all the time. In the second path it is impossible to climb up or down the cliffs because of how smooth the sides are. And so Odysseus chooses to go down the second path.
- Odysseus must decide whether to go through Scylla or Charybdis. Scylla will kill 6 of his men at most and he will be able to make it past. But Charybdis will suck the whole ship up and kill Odysseus along with all of his men. Odysseus can't make it past without having to pass through one of them. Odysseus chooses to pass through Scylla rather than Charybdis.
- Odysseus and his men reach an island and stop to rest at it. He warns them that they must not touch the sheep or cattle or they will be punished by the gods. But one of them manage to convince the others to eat the cattle and sheep anyway. Helios, the god that owns the cattle and sheep, then tells Zeus Odysseus's men must be punished for what they did.
- Odysseus and his men set off from the island after his men disobeyed him and ate the cattle and sheep. Zeus then struck the ship with lightning and sent a storm at them. Since Odysseus was the only one that didn't eat the cattle or sheep he was spared. But his men all died and Odysseus was cast away.
- With his men dead Odysseus drifted around aimlessly for 9 days. On the tenth night Odysseus finally reached an island. The island turned out to be the island of Ogygia. On the island dwells Calypso, a beautiful and terrible goddess, who would hold him captive for many years.
