- I can't believe Tayloe would do such a thing during this scientific progress.

- The guinea pigs are more of my speeds, the experiment will work better on them.

- After only two weeks of scientific treatments, he has become interested in my hallway, looking at the walls, and being impressed with every wall
- June 30th: Barney and the scientist were alone on island after having left Tayloe, because he had tried to poison Barney.
- I'm scared that when my experiments are completed I shall have to do away with Barney.
- Tayloe was just jealous because he thought that his guinea pigs would suit the experiments better.
- July 2nd: Now that he has gone. Barney appears to be much happier. The scientist gave him complete run of the place and observes how Barney's newly awakened Intellectual curiosity carries him.
- July 8th: For the past 2 days the scientist has kept Barney restricted in a vault.
- There is still the possibility that he might be able to communicate his intelligence to others of his kind.
