- Sunny has been running his whole life because of his dad. His mom died giving birth to him and his dad felt it was Sunny's job to finish her dream but Sunny has his own dreams. Sunny loves dancing and he has a routine and his mom also danced. Sunny got in the passion of throwing the discus from coach because he loves to dance but he wanted to stay on the track with his team.
- Aurelia was Sunny's mom's best friend. One year Sunny's mom and Aurelia got a star tattoo to celebrate Aurelia for being clean and ever since Sunny's mom died she gets one every year. Aurelia is now Sunny's home school teacher and for a science and history field trip she took Sunny to go see the movie Baraka. Sunny and Aurelia bought a lot of candy and Sunny didn't even touch it because Sunny described it as sounding crazy and exciting with a monkey in a hot tub.
- Coach loves the track and is Sunny and his teams coach. I feel like just like any coach, he is determined to win the race. Coach is a big part of Sunny's life because he is determined to also help Sunny with whatever he wants to do. When Sunny and his team have a fight he always breaks it up and when Sunny told him he wanted to dance, Coach was confused at first because he didn't know anything with dance until he asked Sunny to throw the discuss and Sunny can still stay on the field.
