The political and financial situation in France has gotten very rough which forced Louis XVI to summon the Estates General. The start of the French Revolution.

The deputies of the third estate finding themselves locked out of their usual meeting hall in Versailles, they moved to a nearby tennis court. There they took an oath to never separate until a written constitution has been established for France.

A prison on the east side of Paris, known as the Bastille, was attacked by an angry and aggressive mob.

The French National ConstituentAssembly issued the declaration of the rights of man and the citizen, which defined individual and collective rights at the time of the revolution.

Concerned over the high price and scarcity of bread, women from the marketplaces of Paris led the march of Versailles.

King Louis XVI and his immediate family unsuccessfully attempted to escape Parisin order to initiatea counter revolution.
