- Stella was monolonging of being scared of being mother because she was so afraid of being found out she was black but was ecstatic because her daughter came out looking white,”the newborn in her arms was perfects: milky skin, wavy blonde hair and eyes so blue they looked violet (Bennet 170).this gives a inept description of Kennedy’s appearance and the features she has and will develop her personality as the stereotypical rich white girl.
- Barry is explaining to Jude Kennedy the attitude and vibe,”Barry said that Kennedy is a rich bitch”(Bennet 242). Meaning that Kennedy is the kind to feel entitled to things they didn't earn and is intolerable to be around.
- Stella was describing what aspects of school she liked and why she liked them,”This is what she loved about math: it was the same as it had been then, and there was always a correct answer, whether she knew it or not. She found that comforting”(Bennet 249). Stella liking math is a given she hasn't been absolute in any way shape or form her entire life, she lives as white but is black, she dislikes black but is black, she cares for her family but abandoned one side and neglected another. So the change of pace is what really entices stella.
