- The mom in the story Gaston was being pretty over-protective of her daughter. She acted pretty strict on the phone call and probably always wanted to keep her daughter with her. She said that two days away from her felt like two years!
- Bao
- The story Gaston, the girl and dad were taking care of Gaston when he was a complete stranger to him. They didn't turn him out and didn't kill him until later.
- HunterxHunter
- Gaston was very different in the story than the girl and the man, yet they accepted this by not killing them until the end. Gaston was a bug while the daughter was a human.
- Mowgli:Legend of the Jungle
- In the Pixar Short, Bao was being very over protective of her child. She never let her child out of her sight and was very watchful of her child. Bao never gave her child any independence or freedom at all!
- In the anime series, HunterxHunter, Aunt Mito takes care of Gon when his dad left him. She nicely did a great job even though to her, Gon was basically a stranger and so was Ging, his father. She barely even saw her brother Ging.
- In Mowgli, Legend of the Jungle, a random baby boy gets into a jungle and a bunch of wolves don't kill him and eat him. Instead, the wolves actually care for him and raise him. They accepted differences just like in Gaston.
