- Reconciliation is a time where a lot of people come to be forgiven for their sins.
- The sacrament of Reconciliation celebrates the forgiveness of your sins. In the Christian and Catholic cultures, reconciliation is a highly significant event. You receive forgiveness for your sins at reconciliation. Forgiveness requires a sincere repentance of your faults. By being forgiven by the church priest during reconciliation, we are given access to Jesus' healing grace.
- During the sacrament of reconciliation, there are a few symbols and rituals. There may be some symbols, such the stole, lifting one's hand, and the cross sign. The stole, a robe worn by priests, is a representation of remorse and sorrow as well as the power of the priest to forgive sins. The blessing that wipes away a person's sins is represented by the lifting of the hand. The priest also makes the sign of the cross at the conclusion. The private discussion about your sins with the priest during reconciliation might be considered a ritual.
