  • Democracy: This form of government lasted in 500 B.C.E. There was no main ruler or leader, because all citizens shared power. Some powers of this government were citizens having the ability to vote on different issues. The form of government ended because powerful leaders would mislead people into voting for a bad decision. After democracy, people started to go back to ways of oligarchy and dictatorship.

  • Monarchy - The leader of monarchy was usually by one man, the king. This form of government mostly lasted from 200 B.C.E to 800 B.C.E The king was in charge of making laws and acting as judges. The next king of line was usually the son of the king and the next in heir.

  • Oligarchy - The rulers of oligarchy were oligarchs. Oligarchs were a group of wealthy people. They usually made laws that were favored to the rich.
