- Cause In February of 1915 Germany declared a war zone around Britain so any ships that went by would be sunk immediately no matter what.Which caused the Sinking of the Lusitania which Killed 1195 of the 2000 that were aboard and 128 of them were Americans. Germany sank the Lusitania by using U-Boats to torpedo the Lusitania but before they did they gave everyone onboard an opportunity to abandon the ship and get to safety. Also everybody was angry about their tactics because it killed so many innocent people. Also it was a luxury steamship.

- EffectThe Sinking of the Lusitania caused the U.S to become angry and to join WWI on the allies' side. The Lusitania was sunk because they got in the range of Germany's attack ships which were surrounding Britain so no goods could be brought in or be brung out this was to prevent them from getting war supplies. Germany also torpedoed the Lusitania because they thought they were carrying supplies for britain. Also because of doing what they did many of the nations turned against Germany and would not help them.
