Welcome to the cell membrane!
thats crazy!
Now were inside of one of the channel proteins. Those bubble-like things you see floating around are molecules. The channel protein allows molecules to enter into the cell. This is an example of facilitated diffusion.
These are phospholipids. They participate in passive transport. In endocytosis, the phospholipids form a vesicle to allow molecules to enter, and vice-versa with exocytosis.
This is a diagram of concentration gradient. To the left, you can see a high conc. and to the right is a low conc. The cell membrane uses different types of diffusion to allow molecules in. A pump protein is an example of active transport because it uses ATP. It is also selectively permeable, meaning it gets to choose which molecules to let in.
