Storyboard Text

  • Hey! I am not able to remember the types of forces we studied today. Can you help me please?
  • Thank You!
  • Yes! Why not?!
  • Okay! I got it.
  • So, let me start with FORCE. Force is a Pull or Push that affects an object in some way.
  • See, as you will hold the burger, there is a physical contact between the burger and your hand, so it is called CONTACT FORCE.
  • This is exactly what I asked ma'am today.
  • For holding the books, my muscles are being used too. So, it can be also called MUSCULAR FORCE.
  • Oh! Now I am able to relate these with my Textbook.
  • See, now the books fell down. So, there is no physical contact between the books and my hand, It is called NON - CONTACT FORCE.
  • I am able to stand because the gravity is pulling me towards the ground, So, it can be also called GRAVITATIONAL FORCE. The objects need not always be in physical contact.
  • I tripped over the books. Ooouuch !! It hurts..
  • It happened because of FRICTIONAL FORCE. It is the force that opposes motion when two or more objects are in contact move in respect to each other.
  • I will orally explain the other forces left as I don't have the materials to show as example.
  • Thank you so much! I understood FORCE and TYPES OF FORCE properly by the examples you gave me today.
  • Other is MAGNETIC FORCE, the force exerted by a Magnet or Magnetic substances.Eg - Magnet attracts Iron
  • First is the MECHANICAL FORCE, the force exerted by machines.Eg - Engine of a Car, Closing and Opening of door.
