- The story begins with God telling Abraham to sacrifice his only son Issac as an offering.
- Take your son Isaac, your only one, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. There offer him up as a burnt offering on one of the heights that I will point out to you. Gen. 22:2
- Abraham is talking to Issac as they walk to where the sacrifice is to take place.
- God will provide the sheep.
- Where is the sheep for the sacrifice?
- Abraham prepares to kill Issac as an offering to God.
- Abraham sacrifices a ram in place of Issac when the Lord tells him that he has passed the test of faith.
- “Do not do the least thing to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you did not withhold from me your son, your only one.” Gen. 22:12
- An angel from God blesses Abraham.
- I will bless you and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore; your descendants will take possession of the gates of their enemies, and in your descendants all the nations of the earth will find blessing, because you obeyed my command. Gen. 22:17-18
- Abraham finds out that his brother's wife, Milcah has borne him eight children.
- Your borther's wife, Milcah, has borne many children for him.
