Self-reflection as Career ExplorationWhen thinking about what you want to pursue as a career, it can help to think about jobs or activities you've done before and what you liked about them.
I can't decide which career to pursue?
Why don't you reflect on what you liked and disliked the jobs you've had?
My friend's advice is worth a try! I will reflect on my work history.
I used to work on a foot ferry! Maybe I should go into maritime.
I really enjoyed being outside and working in a job that was safety focused.
It could get really cold and I would get tired and bored a lot.
I also spent some time as a research assistant.
I really enjoyed thinking critically, problem solving, and working with data.
It could get really lonely though. I missed working as part of a team every day.
I've been working at universities since I graduated with a Masters degree.
Working with students and their supporters is really fulfilling.
It's challenging sometimes because the stakes can be high for my students.
I guess that gives me a good direction.
Hi! I've been reflecting on my past work. Thanks for your advice!
