- they are playing chess and, just enjoying their evening ,waiting for the visitor. mrs white ask the men if they would like a cup of coffee the men say no and continue playing there game of chess. mr white says checkmate and he wins the game.

- sergeant major morris walk in and has some good new for the family.he says"i have a monkey paw that make a wish most likely come true"mrs white is happy cause the family doesnt have alot of money
- conflict
- hi i am "Sergeant-Major Morris,"i have a monkey paw here that makes wishes most likley come true but something bad happened when u do
- when Mr. White ignores the sergeant-major's warnings about the monkey's paw and makes a wish on it anyway.then sergeant tries to throw it in the fire but mr white takes it and out when mrs white ask for 4 hands..

- well yes but something bad might happen

- this is when Herbert dies in the story but mr whites wish comes true and mrs white is sad that mr white wished for money.

- i told u something bad can happen when your wish comes true

- this is when mrs white wants herbert back .Mrs whies wishes for him back.but she doesnt think about what happened after mr white wished for money

- this is when mr white ask for his some out of zombie and back into real person
