- What's this about a paw, Morris?
- There was a fakir who said that 3 people could have 3 wishes each.
- This vulture's claw will let you boys make 3 wishes each!
- .....................
- Oh Herbert! Oh my Herbert! I just have to get this bolt!
- Mr. White and Sgt Major Morris are old friends, and Morris visits White one dark evening. MOrris brings a paw and tells White that it gives people 3 wishes.
- I wish for us never to have broken that vase!
- Come on! You could wish for anything!
- In The Twisted Claw, 2 friends, are trick-or-treating when they go to a witch's house who they had previously visited. She gives them a vulture's claw that gtives them 3 wishes each.
- No, you don't know what you're saying! You didn't see him! It's been 10 days!
- The paw! That's it! We haven't had our 3rd wish!
- In the story, we can assume that Mr. White wished for Herbert to be dead again, but we never actually hear this wish.
- In The Twisted Claw, we know that the 3rd wish is for the boys never to have broken the witch's vase and for everything to go back to normal.
- My favorite part of the short story was when Mrs. White hysterically conjured up the idea of using the 3rd wish to bring Herbert back. Mr. White had to be the voice of sanity as he pleaded with his wife.
- I don't know why, but my favorite part of the tv episode was the grandfather's car driving towards the house. This built tension, and it made me wonder if this was truly the grandfather or just a coincidence.
