- "I suggested that one could be a ray of sunshine in pants just as well,"
- You I should be a ray of sunshine in my father’s lonely life.
- “You can just take that back, boy!”
- “Why, he’s so tired at night he just sits in the Livingroom and reads.”
- “Now you tell your father not to teach you any more. It’s best to begin reading with a fresh mind."

- In Chapter 9 its mentions "Aunt Alexandra was fanatical on the subject of my attire....she said I wasn’t supposed to be doing things that required pants. Aunt Alexandra’s vision of my deportment involved playing with small stoves, tea sets, and wearing the Add-A-Pearl necklace... " Scout has a conflict with Aunt Alexandra who wants her to act and be a lady but scout doesn't want to and wants to remain the way she is.
- "You will learn the method i teach you. Your method isn't correct"
- In chapter 9 it says "This order, given by me to Cecil Jacobs, was the beginning of a rather thin time for Jem and me. My fists were clenched and I was ready to let fly.". Scout has a conflict with Cecil Jacobs on the fact that he called her father the n word and a defender for them.

- In chapter 2 its says "I read the alphabet a faint line appeared between her eyebrows, and after making me read most of My First Reader... aloud, she discovered that I was literate and looked at me with more than faint distaste. Miss Caroline told me to tell my father not to teach me any more, it would interfere with my reading." Scout also has a conflict with Miss.Caroline because Miss.Caroline doesn't approve of Scout being literate and that too at such a young age and therefor wants quotes father to stop reading to her but this statement upsets scout a little bit. .
- "Why not. I am more than capable enough to play. Why can only you guys play it"
- "Haha everyone knows you cant play basketball. And plus your a girl go play those games"
- When i was in 3rd grade i faced a minor conflict with a teacher regarding what method to use in math problem. She was arguing me that her method was the right way to go.
- I always had conflicts with my family on the way i looked and they wanted me too look healthier. This kind of compares with scout because her family always wanted her to be a lady. I usually had conflicts with my aunt.
- In 3rd grade i was willing to play basketball with my classmates but a boy in my class refused and said i wasn't capable enough to play games like these.
