- Isabella Prince loved her job at the library more than anything else in the world. She loved helping students with finding books, she loved seeing all the new books that came through their doors, she loved everything there. There is just one thing that she didn't love.....
- Clean this up now!
- That would be her coworker Beau Edwards. He was as mean as a bear. He always is angry about something. Isabella has to be careful to not set him off when they work together.
- But he isn't always bad. After working together one night, Isabella caught him reading a book series that she had also liked.
- Isabella's father told her to be kind to him. That sometimes mean people just need a friend. Isabella always trusted her father's judgement. So, she decided that she would be nice to him
- One day, while working together, something terrible happened. Isabella got the call that her father was in a car accident. Isabella's world was. ending.
- She told Beau right away. She had no idea what to do. Her father was in the hospital, and she was stuck here at work. "I'll keep track of the library, you go see your father" He said. "Are you sure? I can't just leave you here alone." Isabella responded, though she really wanted to go. "I'm sure." He nodded, as Isabella ran out the door.
- Isabella was so relieved that her father was ok. He was hurt, but nothing that wouldn't heal. Isabella thought "I am so lucky that Beau offered to let me leave. " She knew she would have to make it up to him

- She found a copy of the newest book of the series they both loved. She gave it to him the day she came back to work.
- Beau was so shocked. He had never been given a thoughtful gift before.
- After that day, Beau and Isabella started becoming much closer. They were much nicer to each other. Everything at work started to become much better
- He really wasn't that bad after all.
