  • Good morning student! Prepare your minds to be amazed because you will be gaining a new knowledge right now.
  • I assigned 4 students who will explain thoroughly the Electromagnetic Waves (EM waves).
  • EM waves has several types of waves. These are the radio waves, microwaves, infrared, optical, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma-rays.
  • Hi guys! My name is Mynym. Me and other groupmates will explaining to you what EM waves are.
  • For you to know, Electromagnetic waves or EM waves are waves that are created as a result of vibrations between an electric field and a magnetic field.
  • Commonly used in communication systems. It has the lowest possibilities of harmful effects in human body since it also has the lowest energy in EM spectrum. Its radiation can cause burns.
  • Lets start with Radio waves. This has the longest wavelength and produced by the charges vibrating back and forth in radio and television transmitters.
  • Then Microwaves comes next because it also have a long wavelength. These waves can be detected by radio and television receiving antennas. Usually used in radar tracking devices and in microwave ovens. Exposure to high levels of microwaves can cause a painful burn.
  • Infrared- sensitive cameras are also used in medicine to detect some diseases. This causes a rise in temperature.
  • Infrared also have a long wavelength. It is detected as heat or thermal radiation and are strongly absorb by objects.
  • I'm Greg and I'll be talking about Infrared and a bit about Visible light.
  • Visible light or Optic light can be seen through human's naked eyes. Plants need it for photosynthesis.
  • I'll be naming its colors. We have red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.
  • Jahzell here and I'll be describing each colors characteristics as well. As for the Red, it has the longest wavelength among the visible light. Orange also have a long wavelength and it is a warm color. The brightest color is called yellow. Followed by green which has a shorter wavelength than yellow. Blue also has a short wavelength and it is cool in the eyes. Lastly, we have violet which has the shortest wavelength in the visible light.
  • Time to move on to the next EM wave, Ultraviolet or UV rays has a short wavelength. Did you know that UV rays are detected by photographic films? Now you know!
  • UV rays are used in industrial processes and in medical and dental practices. Too much exposure to this can cause skin cancer.
