He's recently been complaining about his knee, he said he hurt it at recess .
I believe your entering the first phase of 3 of the acute soft tissue healing process called the reactive phase .If you feel or see any ecchymosis , heat with redness ,swelling , pain , or loss of function that's#160;definitely#160;#160;the case .
So what are the other phases ?
Phase 2 AKA the#160; repair/regeneration phase could start today or within the next 3 days . It consist of elimination of debris , regeneration of endothelial cells , and the production of fibroblasts which can take up to 3-6 weeks#160;
And the last one ?
And last but not least the remodeling phase , remodeling applies to the new collagen substances brought into the injured area , the Synthesis (build) and Lysis#160; ( break down ) accomplish the remodeling#160; of the collagen tissue#160; , which can take up to a year or longer to complete , you wont feel it the whole time some takes#160; longer than#160; others .
I think I'm starting to feel better already Doc .
Really ? I never knew any of this prior to this visit . Thank you .
That's what#160; I'm here for .
Thanks for the acute soft tissue lesson Doc , I have to tell my friends about this .
