Welcome everyone to Friday night news, where tonight we are deciding which aboriginal people will be having an exhibit in the new aboriginal history museum. First up is Pearl Gibbs!

Hi Jamie, thanks for having me today. I am an aboriginal rights activist who was born in 1901 when aboriginal rights, we werent allowed in the same schools ore ven pools as white people! were a big problem. She hasd one sister and moved to Sydney with her in 1917. In 1923 I married a man named Robert Gibbs and we had three children.

So why do you think you were important to the aboriginal people as one of their main activists?

Wow thats amazing, so you went from one thing to the next, and to believe that these are only a couple of your greatest achievements is mind boggling!

I was a imprtant activisrt because I was a very kind but firm aboriginal rights activist. In 1956 I started the creation of the Aboriginal Australian Fellowship which was made of many black skinned and white skinned activists met and tried to start more protests and confront the government. I was vice president of this fellowship for a year before moving to help create the petition to start the 1967 referendum. I started helping with this in 1957

Thanks Jamie
