- German deaths were also high and rose as the battle went on due to improper cloths
- other buildings like large offices were turned into depots help weapons and vehicles all around the city . the german army committed many atrocities during this time the most famous being the
- THe most efficient unit in stalingrad was snipers the most famous being vasily zaitsev with over 300 confirmed within the first months of the battle utilizing the rubble for cover he only stopped when a mortar hit him and he lost his dominant eye
- one of the many schools were turned into a red army headquarters and housed some of russia's famous generals

- fighting in stalingrad was so close a red army sergeants and a ss officers corpse was found with each others bayonets in each other
- the fighting resemble ww1 at the volga river banks. The docks were targeted normally and so only on cloudy or smoky days could civilians leave the burning city
- The Stalingrad tractor factory was turned into a tank and arms factory. It changed hands almost 4 times and was the place of a duel between marksmen in the top raftera and in the ruined rooms
- in the end the red army encircled the freezing germans capturing almost 1 million and recovering 2 million bodies
