Mr. Finn you're under arrest for drug trafficking!
OH NO!! PLEASE NO PLEASE DON'T ARREST ME!
Scene 2: New Opportunities
Come on Wiliam, it is time for your first class!
Scene 3: Job Training Class
Good Morning! Welcome to the first class for job training.
This is William Finn, a 32 year old Danish drug dealer, who got caught with his drugs and is now getting arrested. The prison he will be in for a couple of years is not like the ordinary prison. This prison is a place for rehabilitation and giving the prisoners another chance to correct their mistakes and live the right way.
Scene 4: Individual Therapy
William was terrified, because he thought he would be assaulted and treated poorly in prison. However, in this prison they provide a job training course and individual and/or group therapy in hopes of reducing the recidivism rate. The recidivism rate is the percentage of convicted offenders who commit another crime, usually within two years of release from prison.
Scene 5: Satisfaction
In the job training class, other students and William learned about different kinds of jobs that he can do after getting released from prison. The professor gave them tasks to do for their respective future job and guided them when they asked for guidance.
Scene 6: Working as a New Man
In individual therapy, William had a great time talking to Professor Monica. He talked about his childhood, adolescence, and adulthood , and how and why he got into the drug dealing business. Professor Monica was very understanding and wasn't judgmental which lead to him feeling more comfortable in the prison compared to when he first came.
The reason why I became a drug dealer was because I had no money for food etc,,
After his therapy session, he returned to his cell. After a long time, William felt satisfied, normal, and understood. For a moment, he forgot he was still in prison. Not only can he study and go to therapy here, he can also wear his own clothes and cook his own meals. Even though William has to live here for a while, he is no longer stressed and is thrilled about the future.
Being released after 6 years, William Finn got a job in construction work. He is now a changed man and successfully stayed clean since his stay in the prison. The rehabilitation worked and he stopped doing drugs or any other crime for that matter.
