- Once Augustus Caesar rose to power, he was able to establish a golden age in Rome
- It was known as "Pax Romana", or Roman peace, and it lasted for 200 years.
- However, even during times of peace, Augustus was very proactive
- After reading those Greek books, the Odyssey and the Iliad, I have found inspiration
- I should make books that do for us what those books did for the Romans
- Augustus wanted to make a book that would increase the patriotism of Romans
- He would move on to commission Virgil to write the book for him
- They would also increase the people's loyalty and trust in him exponentially
- Virgil, could you make a book that makes Rome under my rule sound really cool
- Sure
- I wonder how I'm going to make Rome and Augustus seem somehow better than they already are
- I think the best way would be to make an origin story of Rome.
- I should start from the fall of Troy and death of Priam. This will make it a sort of underdog story, where we rise from the ashes of fallen Troy and become a great empire
