Gatsby's parents were poor farmers from North Dakota, at 16 years old he ran away. One day, He

rescued an alcoholic millionaire from a storm, Dan Cody. Dan took him in as his assistant and they sailed the world for 5 years, he taught Gatsby everything he knows. Dan made Gatsby realize he wants a life of

luxury and wealth.

Over the summer, Daisy and Gatsby would see each other secretly, they had an affair. Tom realized after he saw the way Daisy looked at Gatsby. Gatsby finally tells Tom, causing conflict and Tom calling Gatsby a bootlegger.

On the day of Gatsby's funeral , no-one comes to his funeral apart from Nick, Gatsby's father, and some servants. Also a man called 'Owl-eyes', who did attend some of Gatsby's parties but would arrive late. Gatsby's father, Henry Gatz, is proud of his son and keeps a picture of his house. Few people attended , which highlights the emptiness in Gatsby's life.
