IntroductionAt the beginning of the story, Desmond Doss was drafted to WWII. Even though Desmond promised to never use a gun in his life he still went to war.

Rising actionDesmond gets there and tells the commander that he refuses to bear arms. This is the start of the conflict in the story.

ConflictWhen everybody finds out that Desmond refuses to use a gun they make fun of him. One day when Desmond woke up getting beat by the other soldiers. Nobody had any respect for him but soon that was going to change as soon as they went to war.
Climax Desmond ran into battle unarmed and saved 75 men's life. In the book, there is a huge cliff he gets a rope and brings them down one by one. After each one he ran back out into the battle and got more men.
Falling actionAfter they won the war they got all of the wounded soldiers to the hospital. Seventy-five men's lives were saved that day because of Desmond's bravery and determination.
ResolutionAfter the war, everybody gained respect for Desmond and wanted to be his friend. when he got home to his wife she was very proud of him.
