- There is a poor married couple named Loisel. Since the wife grew up with wealth, she always craved wealth. Although, now she lives in poverty.
- CLIMAX
- One day, M. Loisel brings back a letter of invitation about a Ball. Although he doubted his decision, he asked his wife to attend that Ball and give her some money to buy a proper dress.
- FALLING ACTION
- Mine Loisel feels a bit bright after getting a new dress. But then, she realizes she doesn't have any jewelry to wear. With her thick face, she tries to ask her rich friend, Mme. Jeanne Forestier, to lend her jewelry and end up going to the ball with a borrowed necklace.
- RESOLUTION
- Mine. Loisel lost the necklace she borrowed.
- They began looking for a way to return the lost necklace, which was resolved by buying back a similar necklace and paying with borrowed money. Mrs Loisel had to pay the dreadful debt.
- She and her husband live hard for the next 10 years. Then, she looks old and keeps imagining what could happen if she didn't lose the necklace. One day, she met with Mine. Forestier and she found out that the necklace price was lower than she thought.
