Your father wants Bharata to be crowned king of Ayodhya. And he wants you to live in the forest for fourteen years. Starting tomorrow.
Very well, mother
Manthara (the maid) influences Queen Kaiyeki into thinking she will lose her power if Rama becomes king. She then orders King Dasharata to exile his son away, this breaks his heart.
With Rama and Lakshmana occupied, Ravana tricks Sita by taking the form of an old man in need. He quickly snatches up the beautiful girl once she steps out towards him.
You are a beautiful woman-Ravana must have touched you while you were his prisoner. I cannot take you back.
On their pursuit of whoever took Sita Rama and Lakshamana are told to ally with Sugriva (the exiled monkey king). They'd make a deal where Rama would help kill Vali (his older brother) in exchange for assistance in the search for Sita.
After they'd searched and found Sita a lengthy battle occurred against the rakshashi army. In the ending moments Rama directly battled Ravana to seal the deal, winning for the Gods and getting his wife back.
After winning the war Sita is returned by Rama's side and the three can return to Ayodhya. Sadly, Rama no longer wants Sita because he doubts a beautiful women like her was left untouched. This happens twice towards the end of the story.
With Sita returning to the Earth to prove her innocence and later Lakshmana returning to heaven Rama is left lonely. He raises his twin sons, splits his kingdom and prepares for his opportunity to meet Sita again in heaven with everyone watching.
