- Hey, Iheard your were working on a research essay, do you know alot about copyright?
- yes I am, and no I dont, I was a little worried i could be plagerising somthing.
- well you got to watch out for that, there are a bunch of ways you can plagerize without even knowing it
- really?, I had no idea, could you explane this to me?
- the biggest part you need to know is how to do citations, being able to credit the author is the most important
- ok, so all i have to do to avoid copyright is to add citations?
- not quite, see if you completly copy a sentance you have to put it in quotes, othorwise you have to paraphrase it
- oh really? well that makes since but how do I make sure I dont copyright music or video
- okay well for video you haveto be careful, alot of video can be copyrighted without a big indication that it is. a good rule is that if its by a company stay away
- that good to know, but what about music
- well music is much easier, if its dmca free, most video sites deem it okay to use, if its copyright free then your completly fine, most popular music is copyrighted though
