Michael Obi is promoted to headmaster of Ndume Central School, and is excited to get to work.
I was thinking what a grand opportunity we've got at last to show these people how a school should be run.
What are you thinking Mike?
After the school was fixed and the garden was finished, Mr. Obi noticed that random villagers would use the path through the school grounds.
This is horrible! What will the supervisors say?
He learned that this was the villages sacred pathway from shrine to the place of burial. But Mr. Obi only cared about what the supervisors would think. So in order to prevent villagers from walking through, Mr. Obi and the school barricaded the pathway
After hearing news of the path blockage, the village priest of Ani shows up to talk to Mr. Obi.
I'm sorry, but the path violates the school's guidelines.
Fine. I guess there is nothing else I can say.
The path has been used by our ancestors for generations! You cannot take it away.
Two days after the conversation, news broke that a woman had died in a childbed. Since Mr. Obi didn't allow the villagers to use the path, they demolished the garden.
This led to the supervisors giving Mr.Obi a nasty report on the condition of his school, ruining his reputation.
