  • Boston Massacre
  • The British Parliament made a tax where any sort of important paper had to have a stamp. Colonists didn't care about the tax, they were mad because they got taxes without them having a say. This led to stopping newspapers, boycotts, riots, and burning stamps.
  • Boston Tea Party
  • It was made by Charles Townshend, and the British wanted an efficient way of collecting money for colonial trade. The Townshend Acts are 5 different acts, but the main ones were where the Revenue act where the British taxed paper, paint, lead, glass, and tea, and they allowed British soldiers to search houses and boats without a warrant. And the Vice-Admiralty Court act where people on trial would have no jury.
  • Intolerable Acts
  • On March 5, 1770, seven or eight British Soldiers were lined up in front of a crowd of colonists and they were led by Captain Preston. The Crowd of Colonists was shouting at the British soldiers and threatening them, after a while, a British Soldier was panicking, and so he accidentally shot at the crowd. After this, many people heard Captain Preston giving the soldiers the order to fire. 5 innocent colonists end up dead.
  • FIre!!
  • When the Tea Company is in need of money, the British Government helped by putting a tax on all tea. The British were viewing the tax as helping a business, but the Americans saw it like they were being forced to drink tea. The Sons of Liberty then started to protest the tax, and when the tea ships come, the Sons of Liberty tell them to go back to Great Britain, but they don't. The Sons of Liberty then later protest by dumping all the tea in the ocean.
  • TEA
  • After the Boston Tea Party, the British Government has had enough of Boston. The British Government made what the colonists called the "Intolerable Acts". The acts consisted of the Boston port being closed so no trade goods through ships, stopped colonists from meeting up, unfair criminal trials, and colonists were forced to let British soldiers stay in their homes. The Colonists felt like this was completely unfair and that now Boston was like a prison.
