- Did you know that there are 4 species of giraffe? They are the northern, southern, reticulated, and Masai giraffe.
- Hi! We will be talking about giraffes today, and I have my friend Ralph the monkey with me to help.
- That's sad, I didn't know they were at risk like that.
- Giraffes used to widely roam the savannah. Now, the remaining ones face many challenges.
- When they do drink, they can only move their necks to reach the top of the water. However, this can only happen after they have bent their legs.
- Many giraffes also don't drink water every day. Even when it is readily available, they may go days without it.
- What do they do when it rains?
- Giraffes also have a heart rate of about 40-90 beats each minute.
- That is really cool!
- Giraffes can also run about 35 miles an hour!
