Adapted from Ross Gay’s Essay Flower In the CurbThe path we follow:
By: Aleah Joseph
Today I was walking back home from some errands when I asked myself ..
fashion boutique
why do I always take this route?
Up the alley, take a left at River street, and pass my favorite pizza place with the dog that's always outside.
FirePizza
Taking this path I always walk across the street from my old friend Nya's house who moved about a 2 years ago that I sadly lost contact with ..
Her old house takes me back to so many wonderful memories we made there and I finally realized why I take this path every time ....

I travel this path not only because I know it but because it takes me down memory lane where great things have happened in the past !
Returning from my errands I saw something bright, as I got closer I see a gorgeous flower, mostly a pink I can not even describe with words, growing out of the crack between the curb
something just as beautiful as the memories once made on this path
