Storyboard Text
- George gets upset with Lennie and tells him he could live better if he didn't have to take care of him. George feels bad for upsetting Lennie so he tells Lennie a story about their future plan. They're going to save money to buy a farm together. Later in the night George reminds Lennie that if something goes wrong at the ranch Lennie needs to wait and hide where they are right now until George can come back for him.
- Lennie and George arrive at the ranch and first meet Candy. They then meet the boss and his son, Curley. Curley doesn't know them but already starts a problem with Lennie. Curley's wife meets them next and says she's looking for Curley. She's flirty with them and when she leaves George warns Lennie to stay away from Curley's wife because she is trouble.
- Lennie is alone in the barn touching his dead puppy. He's talking to himself when Curley's wife comes in the barn and sits next to to him. She tells Lennie about how lonely she is and her dream to be an actress. She lets Lennie touch her hair but Lennie scares her when he gets excited and pulls it too tight.
- Curley's wife starts to get upset and Lennie gets nervous. He silences her by putting his hands over her mouth but when she keeps moving Lennie accidentally breaks her neck. He starts worrying and tries to bury her in hay. Lennie thinks George will be mad at him and leaves to the place George and Lennie went to in the beginning of the book.
- Candy is looking for Lennie but instead finds Curley's wife dead. He gets George and George knows that Lennie did it. He tells Candy to pretend he never told George and tell everyone at the same time so that none of the other men think George had anything to do with her death. Candy gets all the men and Curley says they need to find Lennie and kill him. All the men go after Lennie.
- George finds Lennie before the other men do. Lennie asks George to tell him the story about their farm and George does. When George hears the men getting closer he asks Lennie to look across the river. He tells Lennie about the farm and shoots him in the back of the head with Carlson's gun. The men find George and Lennie on the ground. George lies and tells them he got the gun from Lennie.
