- In this scene, Johnny was walking home from the movies and a group of socs jumps him. "They had me down in a second. They had my arms and legs pinned down and one of them was sitting on my chest..."(pg:5) This relates to my theme of violence because it shows how big the greasers and the soc's rivalry is and how bad it can get at times.
- This is when we find out Jonny has an awful home life when in the text it says, " His father always beating him up." This relates to my theme of violence because it shows how his father treated him. (pg:12)
- (pg:50) " Darry wheeled around and hit slapped me so hard that it knocked me against the door." This is when Ponyboy came home really late at night and Darry was extremely frustrated at him and slapped him as a result.
- This Scene is where Jonny Cade killed Bob because he was drowning Ponyboy. "I ducked and tried to run for it, but the soc grabbed my arm and twisted it behind my back, and shoved my face into the fountain." (pg: 55-56) As a result, Johnny did this... " I killed him... I killed that boy." (Pg: 56)
- (pg : 144) " They were slugging it out... I jumped the soc's back, pulling his hair and pounding him...He caught the guy by the shoulder and half lifted him up and before knocking him three feet with a sledgehammer blow.
- (pg: 154) " Dally raised the gun...and the policeman's gunfire into the night I knew that's what dally wanted. He jerked around from the impact of the bullets, then slowly crumpled with a look of grim triumph on his face. He was dead before he hit the ground." This is where Dally robbed the store and wanted to die because Johnny died in the hospital.
