- The construction of the Palace of Versailles took thousands of workers and many years to finish. King Louis XIV was able to afford this because he had control over everyone, and the palace reflected him and his power that he had. At the time, the third estate was struggling due to the heavy taxing from the construction.
- Did you hear that King Louis XIV is trying to construct the Palace of Versailles?
- That's horrible, everybody knows that we're going to have to pay for it.
- On King Louis XIV's deathbed, he spoke to his grandson about what he should and shouldn't do as the future leader. His grandson, was 5 years old at the time and couldn't take his advice until he was the ruler.
- I have loved war too much. Do not be like me and do not cause more war.
- What is happening?
- We need more bread!
- The third estate stormed the Bastille, with a goal of getting gunpowder and was a major factor in rebelling against King Louis XVI and the government. The third estate was heavily taxed and had many other problems because of King Louis XVI and had many other problems that made them have to rebel.
- The taxes are unfair!
