- Is there any work we can do for pay?
- Yes there is. Go harvest grain and at the end of the day you will receive a denarius coins each
- 8:00 AM
- This work is hard but we will get pay when we are done to feed our families.
- Can we work for you for pay?
- Yes. Go harvest grain with the others and at the end of the day you will receive a denarius.
- 3:00 PM
- You have all arrived throughout the day and the day is now over. I will give you each your promised denarius, starting with the last ones who arrived.
- Over the next hours, more and more groups of people show up and also start working for pay. The end of the day arrives, and some of the workers have worked for a lot shorter than others.
- Why did the other people get a denarius just like us?! We did so much more work!!
- Take what is yours and go. Is it not legal for me to do what I want with what is mine? I gave you what we agreed upon. Are you jealous of me for being generous
