  • That's simply untrue! There is no evidence that supports co-sleeping has a higher infant mortality rate. Its also a cultural practices in many parts of the world like Asia, Africa, and some parts of Europe.
  • Babies have no business being in their parents bed! The baby is more likely to be suffocated and from SIDS than sleeping on their own.
  • Well, just because they practice it in other countries doesn't make it any more safe or beneficial for the baby.
  • The parents and the baby would get the best sleep! The mothers wouldn't have to get up every 2 hours to go feed and the baby would feel more secure sleeping in the same bed knowing someone was right there with them.
  • Plus the sleep for the parents will be way worse. Everybody knows babies are horrible sleepers! They're up and down all night and never stay still. I don't know how the parents would get any sleep.

  • On top of the parents getting better sleep, it makes it easier for breastfeeding mothers. The baby is right there next to them allowing easy access to the baby.
  • But if you make the mother too available to the feeding mother they will become too dependent on the mother and use her as a human pacifier.
  • Breastfeeding encourages a closer bond between mother and child. The more time they are able to spend together the better.
  • Yeah, yeah, time together is great and all but what about the parents privacy? What about when the kid is just a little too big to be sharing a bed with mommy and daddy? Not to mention it will be much harder to get them into their own room let alone their own bed.

  • Well sleeping patterns and bed habits will change from kid to kid. It depends on how later or early they try to move them to their own bed.
  • Well I guess it just depends on personal preference the amount to space the parents need.
  • Also most experts recommend doing what the parents feel is best for their own children. They say as long as the parents are practicing safe baby sleeping habits it shouldn't be harmful for the child.
  • Well , if the experts say it's fine I guess the parents can do whatever they choose.
