- Meeting of the Estates General
- HAHA nope we refuse to pay taxes. We'll just tax the 3rd estate more
- BUT WE ALREADY PAY ALL OF THE TAXES!!
- Maybe the first and second estate should help pay some of the taxes.
- Tennis Court Oath
- The National assembly needs to hold a meeting in this meeting hall
- Nope you cannot go in.
- I know a nearby tennis court we can meet at!!!
- Storming of the Bastille
- What do they want down there?
- They're demanding gunpowder and weapons.
- France started to become in a financial crisis because most of all the money was coming form the first estate . King Louis was also spending more money than France took in. He noticed that there was a problem so he summoned the Estates General to meet to figure out how to get more money. They decided to vote by order so third estate was last. The first and second estate refused to help and continued to put all of the taxes on the third estate.
- The March on Versailles
- We want bread!!
- I don't have any bread but I guess I will come to Paris.
- Those who wanted to represent the people of France declared themselves the National Assembly. They met at an indoor tennis court to take the "tennis court oath". They swore to never separate and to meet whenever the circumstances might require until they make the constitution of 1791.

- I think the revolution is STUPID!
- execute him and anyone else that says anything negative about the revolution!!
- On July 14, 1789 some Parisians stood outside the Bastille and demanded weapons and gunpowder. The Prison commander refused. So the mob of Parisians broke through the defenses. They killed the commander, released some prisoners and killed some guards. The Bastille represented the abuse of the monarchy. To show how they were feeling they destroyed the Bastille brick by brick. This was a good turning point in the revolution because it showed the KIng that they were independent.

- Thousands of women marched 13 miles to from Paris to Versailles. They were tired and they wanted bread. They demanded to see the king. The king told them he didn't have enough bread. So they told him to come to Paris so he could be more involved and they wouldn't have to go so far to see him. The women refused to leave until he promised to go to Paris. He eventually agreed. This event showed the king how bad things were in Paris and how hungry the children were.
- And we demand that you come to Paris to be more involved!!
- After the French revolution was going on for a little bit and as Robespierre became the face of the revolution, France fell into the "reign of terror". 16,000 people were executed by the guillotine for being against the revolution. This began when the committee of public safety took over. France became a republic with universal suffrage.
- After the reign of terror Napoleon became in charge of France. And he named himself emperor. He started to run the Military and had huge success. The french citizen loved him and supported him. He eventually reforms france.
