- on his way home from the fire station, Montag feels as if he is being followed. He turns around and meets his new neighbor Clarisse, which she recognizes him as a fireman from the smell of kerosene on him.
- Reading on the subway
- (music playing) Denham's dentifrice
- Montag walks into the room and sees pills on the ground. he realizes that Mildred has overdosed on sleeping pills so Montag calls the emergency hospital.
- Card Game
- The woman has a lot of books in her house, which causes the firemen to go to her house to burn the books. She was asked to leave but she refused to. She then decides she is going to burn with her books, so she lights a match and burns with her books.
- Pulls up to Montag's House
- Montag is riding on the subway attempting to read the bible, but he can not concentrate because of the Denham's dentifrice commercial. He starts to try and read really fast that way he won't lose the information. but it doesn't work.
- Montag goes to the fire station to return the book he took. He then sits down with Beatty and the other firemen to play a card game. Beatty then starts quoting literature at him in which he is disregarding books. They then get interrupted by the alarm.
- that made you for a little while a drunkard. Read a few lines and off you go over the cliff. Bang, you're ready to blow up the world, chop off heads, knock down women and children, destroy authority. i know, i've been through it all.
- I'm all right
- After the card game at the fire station, an alarm went off meaning someone has books in their house. They get dressed and off they go, but this night is different because Beatty drives his time. After while we discover they have pulled up to Montag's house.
- Why, we've stopped in front of my house
