In this scene Vern was looking for pennies underneath the house when he over heard his brothers friend and his brother talking about a dead body along the train tracks. He found this interesting and new he needed to tell the boys. This is significant because this is how Vern found out about the dead body or else they would have never known.

The boys came up to a place where they could rest for a bit and get some food for the night and as they were leaving chopper had chased Gordie right to the fence. He seemed tough but really was a scared dog. This is significant because this is where the boys bought their food and continued there journey.
In this scene the found a place to stay for the night Gordie had told them a story as everyone fell asleep. They started to hear nosies so someone had to stay upon watch. Gordie sat beside Chris as Chris started getting emotional while they talked. This is significant because Chris expressed how he feels about life to Gordie.
In this scene Vern was being such a pussy and laid down in the middle of the tracks while a train was coming. Gordie yelled at him and finally got Vern to stand up and start running, they made it but it was very close. This scene is significant because they knew a train was going to come at some point but they didn't know it was going to come then.
